Would you breakup with your boyfriend/girlfriend because of a rumor?

So my brother was going out with this nice Christian girl (that's what my mom said), but then now she wants to breakup with him because of a rumor she heard. I think the rumor was something about how he was still keeping in touch with this girl who liked him in high school.





And they're in the same speech class at school and my brother's girlfriend recently gave a speech about how to breakup with someone.





I don't know if he still likes that other girl from high school, but if my brother's girlfriend really loved him, wouldn't she try to work it out with him instead of wanting to breakup with him immediately? He says he's just waiting for her to breakup with him in person.

It's never really been a good thing to believe in rumors. They cause nothing but trouble. If that girl wants to break up with your brother because of a rumor, then maybe she doesn't really love him. Or maybe there's other reason which she is covering up with the rumor thing.

If your brother's girlfriend was wise enough, and actually loved him, she wouldn't have that done just because of a rumor. Instead, she should have talked to him straight about it. Perhaps, she is rather ignorant and gullible, so perhaps she chose not to. Either way, the choice she has made has been done. And I guess it is just her loss for not appreciating your brother, and rather than trusting him she believed a rumor.
Well if she really loved him and trusted him then a silly rumor should not really affect what they got so if she breaks up with him then it means she wasn't really in love with him in the first place and is a bit dippy for believing other ppl

leave them to sort their own problems - that's LIFE.

f*ck no I wouldn't. If you're going to break up with someone kuz of that then that tells me that they werent even close enough to begin with. You gotta understand where she's coming from though. She doesn't know your bro. that well so your bro. better clear isht up so he doesn't lose her.
